Symposium: "Strengthening HPV vaccination and adolescent health programmes in Africa", 21-22 November, Johannesburg, South Africa

The Network for Education and Support in Immunisation (NESI)/University of Antwerp, the South African Vaccination and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC)/Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) are implementing a project entitled "Improving skills and institutional capacity to strengthen country adolescent immunisation programmes and health systems in the African Region". Within this project a HPV Symposium and a Stakeholders Meeting were held in Pretoria, South Africa, in March 2015; and workshops to capacitate participants from southern and eastern African countries to strengthen adolescent health programmes through the introduction of HPV vaccination were held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in October 2015, and in Nairobi, Kenya, in March 2016.

A follow-up Symposium "Strengthening HPV vaccination and adolescent health programmes in Africa" will now be organised from 21-22 November 2016 at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.

This Experience Exchange Symposium will allow participating countries to report current implementation status and share best practices and challenges regarding the implementation of HPV vaccination and adolescent health programmes.
