The TropEd Advanced Vaccinology course will be held from 8-19 January 2018 in Berlin, Germany. The registration deadline is 5 January 2018 - please visit the course website to learn more about course topics, instructors, and fees.

The course is run in partnership between the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and the University of Antwerp, Belgium.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation developed, in collaboration with other partners, the Framework for Immunization Training and Learning (FITL). This Framework is a shared conceptual framework that can be used by a wide range of stakeholders to support improved performance of managers and healthcare workers who deliver vaccination services, by creating a better environment for training and learning. NESI was part of the working group.

The World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO/AFRO) and the Rwandan Ministry of Health hosted the Regional capacity building workshop on the Expanded Programme on Immunization/Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (EPI/IMCI) Interactive training and resource tool from 29 May – 2 June 2017 in Kigali, Rwanda. The tool was developed in collaboration between WHO/AFRO, NESI, and ITEM Interactive.

The Network for Education and Support in Immunisation (NESI)/University of Antwerp, the South African Vaccination and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC)/Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) are implementing a project entitled "Improving skills and institutional capacity to strengthen country adolescent immunisation programmes and health systems in the African Region".

‘Evaluation of the curriculum on immunisation at nursing and midwifery schools in West Java Province, Indonesia’

A new operational research collaboration was initiated between the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Padjadjaran (UNPAD) and NESI during 2015. The study is entitled 'Evaluation of the curriculum on immunisation at nursing and midwifery schools in West Java Province, Indonesia'.

A new Erasmus Mundus - Joint Master Degrees granted by EACEA, the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission, entitled “Leading International Vaccinology Education” (LIVE), is scheduled to start in 2016.
